Community Relations

The Community Relations Committee (CRC) is the public affairs and education arm of Memphis Jewish Federation. The CRC educates, advocates, and mobilizes the Memphis Jewish Community on behalf of domestic issues facing Jews at home, Israel and world Jewry. It sponsors and participates in programs that unite the community in times of celebration, crisis, and commemoration.

The CRC reaches out to the broader Memphis community, including elected officials, law enforcement, other ethnic and religious groups, and the media, in order to inform, foster good relations and form coalitions on issues of mutual concern.

  • Security Council

MJF has formed a Jewish Community Security Council comprised of representatives from each Jewish community organization, synagogue and school that meets regularly around issues of security.

  • Holocaust Education

MJF is dedicated to Holocaust Remembrance through education, preservation of primary sources, and outreach to present and future generations in the fight against hatred and bigotry.

  • Israel Programming

MJF offers various programs about Israel, including a six-week Israel Advocacy Academy, which helps train community members in how to respond to anti-Israel bias and propaganda.

  • Hunger Coalition

MJF teamed up with a broad range of faith and ethnic-based communities and social service agencies to convene a community wide hunger awareness and advocacy program.
