Good Hygiene Helps Self-Esteem And Motivation.

Dignity Grows empowers our neighbors in need by providing menstrual and hygiene supplies for every body that needs them.

Every month, some of our neighbors feel a sense of helplessness or embarrassment because they lack basic hygiene necessities. Girls are forced to stay home from school during their periods, missing critical learning and developmental time. Women frequently miss work, which can lead to lost wages and further compound the cycle of poverty.

The Jewish Foundation of Memphis and Memphis Jewish Federation are partners in addressing this critical need in our community. As a Dignity Grows Chapter, we help community members get involved through education, volunteering, and sponsorship opportunities.

As a Dignity Grows Chapter, we provide menstrual products and hygiene supplies to girls and women in need so that they can fully participate in their daily activities. We do this by working with distribution partners such as Room In The Inn, Ridgeway High School, and the Tiger Pantry at the University of Memphis. Each reusable, zippered Dignity Grows Tote contains a month's supply of hygiene products including pads, pantiliner, soap, shampoo, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and body wipes.

“Picking up a monthly Dignity Grows Tote saves me from eating ramen noodles for an entire week. The totes have brightened my school year. Thank you to Dignity Grows for helping me without worry.”
– Community College Student

For a gift of only $15 you can donate a Dignity Grows Tote to a neighbor in need, helping her to live life interrupted while safeguarding her dignity. After all, it’s the little things that make a big difference in people’s lives.
